Dario Fo revisits once again his masterpiece “Mistero Buffo”, which one could translate as “grotesque performance”: the grotesque theatre has always been the main form of popular expression as well as provocation. His performance was realized in collaboration with Felice Cappa. It starts from an original interpretation of a fundamental text of the early Italian minstrels literature, but soon turns to the use of the “grammelot”, the fictional language that minstrels before and comedians later used as they were traveling performers voyaging through different people and languages and furthermore this was a mean to avoid censorial laws by using a language not totally understandable. |
